Part A — Terms of Use
1. Who we are and acceptance
XSchools.in ("the Platform", "we", "us", "our") is owned and operated by Amara Education Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office at 170/2, NSR Road, Coimbatore – 641011, Tamil Nadu, India.
By accessing or using the Platform you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, the Refund Policy (Part C) and the Grievance Mechanism (Part D). If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1.1 Which platforms these Terms cover
These Terms apply in full to every platform, product, application, website and service operated by Amara Education Private Limited (together, the "Group Platforms"), including:
- XSchools.in — teacher job portal and school recruitment
- littlerootsapp.com — foundational stage teaching companion
- Dhuruv — timetable generation software
- Teacher's Knowledge Pick — digital book library
- PRERANA — digital book series
- Every further brand, product or service launched by Amara Education Private Limited in future
1.2 Who these Terms bind
These Terms apply to every person who accesses any Group Platform, whether or not they register an account. Browsing, searching, viewing a listing or downloading material constitutes acceptance. Registration, publication of a profile, publication of a vacancy, publication of a listing and payment each constitute further and express acceptance.
2. Definitions
- "Teacher" — an individual who registers to create a professional profile and seek employment in schools or educational institutions.
- "School" — a school, college, coaching centre, institution or other employer that registers to advertise vacancies and search for candidates.
- "Vendor" — a solution provider, supplier, publisher, service company or individual professional that registers to list products or services offered to schools, teachers or parents.
- "Parent" — an individual who registers to search for tutors, coaches, institutions or related services.
- "User" — any Teacher, School, Vendor, Parent or visitor.
- "Content" — any information, text, image, document, resume, listing, vacancy, review or other material submitted to or displayed on the Platform.
- "DPDP Act" — the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 made under it.
- "IT Act" — the Information Technology Act, 2000, together with rules made under it, including the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
3. Nature of the service — read this carefully
3.1 We are an intermediary, not an employer
The Platform is a technology service that allows Teachers, Schools, Vendors and Parents to find and contact one another. We are an "intermediary" within the meaning of Section 2(1)(w) of the IT Act and claim the protection of Section 79 of that Act in respect of Content created by Users.
3.2 We are not a party to any employment relationship
Any offer, appointment, contract, salary, term, condition, interview, probation, termination or dispute between a Teacher and a School is exclusively between them. We are not a party to it, we do not supervise it, and we accept no liability arising from it.
3.3 We do not guarantee employment or recruitment
Registration on the Platform, completion of a profile, publication of a resume, or payment of any subscription fee does not guarantee that a Teacher will be contacted, interviewed, shortlisted or appointed, nor that a School will receive applications or find a suitable candidate. Any figure, score, percentage or "match" displayed by the Platform is an indicative software output and not a promise of any outcome.
3.4 We do not verify Users, credentials or vacancies
Profiles, qualifications, experience, certificates, salary figures, school details, vacancy listings and Vendor listings are self-declared by the User who submits them. Amara Education Private Limited does not verify, audit, authenticate or endorse any of it. Where the Platform displays any badge, label, tick, score or status, that reflects only the completeness of information submitted, and is not a certification of truth by us.
3.5 Verification is the User's responsibility
Amara Education Private Limited requests every User to check, and check again, before acting.
(a) A School, before appointing any Teacher, must independently verify:
- Identity and current address
- Every educational qualification, directly with the awarding university, board or institution
- Registration or licence numbers, where the role requires one
- Previous employment, experience and the last salary drawn, directly with the previous employer
- Character and antecedents, including such police verification as the law and the School's own policy require
- Any other matter material to the appointment
(b) A Teacher, before accepting any offer, must independently verify:
- That the School legally exists, and its registration, recognition and affiliation status with the relevant board or authority
- That the vacancy is genuine and currently open
- The salary offered, the date it is paid, and the deductions applied
- Accommodation, hostel, transport, meals and any other facility offered
- The terms of appointment, probation, notice period and termination
- That any commitment made orally is recorded in a written appointment letter before joining
(c) A School or Teacher dealing with a Vendor, and a Vendor dealing with either, must independently verify the other party's legal status, registration, GST particulars, capacity to perform and the terms of any supply, before any payment or commitment.
(d) A Parent must independently verify the identity, qualifications, references and suitability of any tutor, coach, institution or service provider found through the Platform, before engaging them or permitting any contact with a child.
3.6 Child protection is the employing School's duty
Where an appointment involves working with or having access to children, the School alone is responsible for carrying out the background checks, verification and safeguarding measures required of it by law, including under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Amara Education Private Limited performs no such checks and must not be relied upon for them.
3.7 No responsibility, at any cost
Amara Education Private Limited accepts no responsibility and no liability whatsoever for the truth, accuracy, completeness or currency of any information published by any User, nor for any loss, damage, cost, expense, disappointment or injury of any kind arising from a User's reliance on it, from any appointment made or not made, from any salary not paid, from any facility not provided, from any qualification found to be false, or from any dispute between Users.
3.8 Meetings, interviews and travel
Interviews, demonstrations, visits and meetings arranged between Users take place entirely outside the Platform and without our involvement or supervision. We strongly advise every Teacher to satisfy herself of a School's identity and address before travelling, to meet at the School's own premises during working hours, to inform a family member or friend of where she is going and when, and never to hand over original certificates or documents to any person as a condition of an interview.
3.9 Vendor listings are advertisements
Products and services listed by Vendors are offered by those Vendors and not by us. We do not manufacture, supply, warrant, endorse or stand behind them. Any purchase is a contract between the User and the Vendor.
4. Eligibility and children
4.1 Age requirement
You must be at least 18 years of age to register an account of any kind on any Group Platform.
4.1A Children are not account holders
A person below 18 years must not create or control an account, publish a profile, apply for employment, purchase a service or transact through a Group Platform. XSchools.in is an adult-facing recruitment and professional-services platform. littlerootsapp.com and related educational tools are supplied to adult Teachers, Schools and Parents and are not offered directly to children.
4.1B Limited child-related information
A Parent or authorised School representative may provide only the minimum child-related information genuinely necessary to request or administer an educational service. Before doing so, the adult must have lawful authority and any verifiable parental consent required by applicable law. Do not upload a child's identity document, precise address, financial information, biometric data, health record, photograph or other sensitive information unless the feature expressly requires it, a separate notice explains the purpose, and the required consent has been obtained.
4.1C Safeguards
We do not knowingly use children's data for tracking, behavioural advertising or any processing likely to cause detrimental effects to a child's well-being. If we learn that child data was provided unlawfully or unnecessarily, we may restrict the account and erase the data subject to legal retention duties. Report such data to hello@xschools.in.
4.2 Registering on behalf of an entity
Where you register on behalf of a School, Vendor or other entity, you represent that you are duly authorised to bind that entity, and these Terms bind both you and that entity.
4.3 Territorial scope
The Platform is intended for use in India. Users accessing it from outside India do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with their local law.
4.4 Refusal of registration
We may refuse, suspend or terminate registration at our discretion where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.
5. Accounts and security
5.1 You must provide accurate, current and complete information, and keep it updated. Registering with false particulars is a breach of these Terms and may constitute an offence under Section 66D of the IT Act.
5.2 You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@xschools.in of any unauthorised use.
5.3 One person or entity may hold one account per role. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits, subscription terms or a suspension is prohibited.
5A. Your mobile number and email address
5A.1 Why we ask for them
A mobile number and an email address are collected for one purpose: so that the right people can reach each other in time. Specifically:
- So that a School can contact a Teacher about a vacancy, an interview or an appointment, without delay
- So that a Teacher can contact a School about a vacancy she has applied for
- So that a Parent can contact a tutor, coach or institution, and be contacted in return
- So that a Vendor, manufacturer or supplier and a School can contact each other about an enquiry, a quotation or an order
- So that we can send you service messages — registration confirmation, password reset, application updates, subscription and invoice notices
- So that we can reach you about a security or account matter that cannot wait
5A.2 What we do not use them for
We do not sell contact details. We do not share them with anyone other than the counterparty to whom you have chosen to make yourself visible, and our service providers under the Privacy Policy.
5A.3 Your communication choices
By registering or publishing a profile, vacancy or listing, you request service-related communications and relevant person-to-person contact for the purpose selected by you. Transactional and security communications may be sent where permitted by law. Promotional calls, SMS, WhatsApp or email will be sent only where we have the consent or other lawful authority required by applicable telecommunications, anti-spam and platform rules. You may withdraw marketing consent by writing to hello@xschools.in. Withdrawal does not affect essential account, security, payment or transaction communications.
5A.4 Keep them current
An out-of-date number or email address is the most common reason a Teacher misses an opportunity. Keeping them accurate is your responsibility.
5A.5 Misuse of contact details
Contact details obtained through the Platform may be used only for the specific recruitment, engagement, enquiry or transaction for which access was given. Using them for marketing, bulk messaging, resale, or any unrelated purpose is a serious breach of these Terms, may breach the DPDP Act, and will result in termination of the account and may be reported to the authorities.
6. Fees, payments and refunds
6.1 Teachers
Registration, profile creation, resume building and applying to vacancies are provided free of charge for an introductory period. Amara Education Private Limited reserves the right to introduce a nominal registration or subscription fee for Teachers at any time after that period. Where such a fee is introduced: the amount and what it includes will be published before it takes effect; existing registered Teachers will be given not less than 30 days' notice; and no fee is ever payable as a condition of being shortlisted, interviewed or appointed.
6.2 Schools and Vendors
Access to candidate search, vacancy publication, listing placement and related features is chargeable at the prices published on the Platform from time to time.
6.3 Fees may change
All fees are determined by Amara Education Private Limited and may be revised at its discretion. A revision applies to renewals and to new purchases. It does not apply to a subscription period already paid for.
6.4 Seminars, workshops and training
Amara Education Private Limited may organise seminars, workshops, training programmes and certification courses. Whether any event is free or chargeable, and the fee, is entirely at the discretion of Amara Education Private Limited. Non-attendance at a paid event does not entitle the participant to a refund.
6.5 GST and taxes
All prices are exclusive of tax unless expressly stated. Goods and Services Tax is applicable to every paid service on every Group Platform at the rate prescribed by the Government of India. A tax invoice is issued for every payment.
6.6 Refunds subject to verification
Refund requests are considered under Part C below. Refunds are made only after Amara Education Private Limited has verified the genuineness of the request.
6.7 Warning about fraud
6.8 No fee guarantees an outcome
Payment of any fee purchases access to the Platform and its features. It does not purchase, promise or guarantee a job, an interview, a shortlisting, an appointment, a candidate, an enquiry, a sale or any other outcome.
7. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not permit any other person to:
- 7.1 Publish any Content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy, insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, encouraging of money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful.
- 7.2 Publish a vacancy that does not genuinely exist, or that is posted for the purpose of collecting resumes, data or fees.
- 7.3 Demand or accept any payment, deposit, security or "registration fee" from a Teacher in connection with employment or the prospect of employment.
- 7.4 Publish a vacancy or apply a search filter that discriminates on a ground prohibited by law.
- 7.5 Extract, scrape, harvest, copy, index or store Platform data by automated means, or build any database from Content accessed on the Platform.
- 7.6 Use contact details obtained from the Platform for bulk marketing, unsolicited commercial communication, or any purpose other than the specific recruitment, engagement or enquiry for which access was given.
- 7.7 Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent an affiliation.
- 7.8 Introduce any virus, worm, malicious code or other harmful program, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its underlying systems, or interfere with its operation. Such conduct is an offence under Sections 43, 65 and 66 of the IT Act.
- 7.9 Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of any person.
8. Your content and our licence
8.1 You retain ownership of Content you submit.
8.2 By submitting Content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, format and display that Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform, for the period your account is active and for such further period as is necessary for our legal obligations.
8.3 You warrant that you own or are licensed to submit the Content, and that it does not infringe the rights of any person.
8.4 Visibility. A Teacher's published resume and profile are visible to registered Schools using the Platform's search and matching features. A Teacher controls whether her profile is published, and may unpublish it at any time. Draft and unpublished material is not shown to Schools.
8.5 Takedown. We may remove or disable access to any Content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or applicable law, or upon receiving a valid order from a court or an authorised government agency.
9. Our intellectual property
The Platform, its design, software, databases, trade marks, logos and the marks "XSchools", "XSchools.in" and "Amara Education" are the property of Amara Education Private Limited. Nothing in these Terms transfers any right in them to you.
9A. Digital books and licensed content
9A.1 Teacher's Knowledge Pick, PRERANA and similar libraries provide a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable right to read the purchased title for the access period shown at checkout, commonly 365 days. The purchase is access to a licence, not ownership of the copyright or a sale of the source file.
9A.2 Unless a product page expressly allows it, users must not download, print, copy, record, screen-capture in bulk, redistribute, resell, share login credentials, bypass access controls or make the content available to another person or device. Reasonable accessibility accommodations may be requested at hello@xschools.in.
9A.3 A preview is supplied only to evaluate the title. Preview duration, page availability and access controls may change before purchase.
10. Third-party services
The Platform relies on third-party services including payment gateways, cloud hosting, email delivery and artificial-intelligence processing. Your use of the Platform involves the transmission of data to those providers to the extent necessary. We select providers we consider reputable but do not control their services and are not liable for their acts or omissions.
10A. Third-party content, experts and events
10A.1 Independent contributors. Articles, presentations, videos, training material, advice, demonstrations and other information made available through the Platform, Teacher's Hub, seminars, workshops or events may be created or delivered by independent experts or third parties. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, such persons are not employees, agents or authorised representatives of Amara Education Private Limited.
10A.2 The views, statements, product claims, assurances, warranties, commitments, prices and offers made by an independent expert or third party are solely that person's responsibility. Publication, hosting or sponsorship by Amara Education Private Limited does not constitute verification, adoption, recommendation or endorsement.
10A.3 Before relying on third-party information, purchasing a product or service, or making any payment, each User must independently verify the contributor's identity, qualifications, authority, pricing, terms and ability to perform.
10A.4 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amara Education Private Limited is not responsible for any inaccuracy, omission, non-performance, defect, loss or dispute arising from independent third-party content or dealings. This clause does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10A.5 Suspected misleading content, unauthorised commitments, unsafe products, fraudulent offers or misuse of the Company's name should be reported promptly to hello@xschools.in.
11. Artificial intelligence features
11.1 Several features across the Group Platforms use artificial intelligence — including the AI resume builder and matching features on XSchools.in, lesson and activity generation on littlerootsapp.com, timetable generation in Dhuruv, and any comparable feature introduced on any Group Platform in future.
11.2 AI assists, it does not replace you. Every AI feature is a drafting and support aid. It works from the information and the prompt you supply. It does not exercise professional judgement, and it is not a substitute for your judgement.
11.3 The output may be wrong. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, internally inconsistent, or may deviate from the input you gave it. This is a known characteristic of the technology and not a defect in the Platform.
11.4 You must check before you publish. Where an AI feature produces content that you then publish, submit or share — a resume shown to Schools, a vacancy description, a listing, a lesson plan, a timetable — it is your responsibility to read it in full and verify it before publishing.
11.5 Your prompt is your responsibility. The quality and accuracy of AI output depends on what you put in. An incorrect qualification, year, subject, salary or instruction in the input will be carried into the output.
11.6 You remain the author. Content generated with AI assistance and then published by you is your content and your statement. You are solely responsible for its accuracy and for any consequence of publishing it.
11.7 Availability. AI features depend on third-party services and may be unavailable, interrupted or withdrawn at any time. Non-availability of an AI feature is not a service failure and does not entitle any User to a refund, a credit or compensation.
11.8 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amara Education Private Limited accepts no responsibility and no liability whatsoever for any AI-generated output, or for any loss, damage, cost, claim or dispute arising from it.
11.9 Not professional advice. AI output is not legal, financial, medical, educational, employment or professional advice. A timetable, lesson plan or curriculum suggestion generated by AI must be reviewed by a qualified person before it is used with students.
11.10 What not to enter into an AI feature: Do not enter another person's personal data without their consent; any personal data of a child; identification numbers; financial or payment credentials; confidential information belonging to a School, employer or third party; or anything unlawful.
11.11 Matching and scoring. Any match percentage, score, ranking or recommendation generated by the Platform is an indicative software output based on self-declared data. It is not an assessment of a candidate's competence, an endorsement of a School, or a prediction of any outcome.
11A. Automated processing and synthetic content
We do not intend an AI-generated match, ranking or recommendation to make a final decision producing legal or similarly significant effects. Schools and other users must apply meaningful human review to recruitment, admission, assessment, safeguarding and disciplinary decisions.
Where applicable law grants a right to information, objection or human review concerning automated processing, a user may contact hello@xschools.in.
Users must label or disclose synthetic content where required by law and must not use AI features to impersonate a person, fabricate credentials, create deceptive media or violate another person's rights.
12. Suspension and termination
12.1 You may close your account at any time from your portal or by writing to hello@xschools.in.
12.2 We may suspend or terminate an account, with notice where practicable, for breach of these Terms, for suspected fraud, or where required by law.
12.3 On termination, published Content is removed from public view. Data retention thereafter is governed by the Privacy Policy.
12.4 Termination does not entitle a School or Vendor to a refund of fees already paid where termination results from their breach.
13. Disclaimers
13.1 The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
13.2 We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
13.3 Nothing in this clause excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Indian law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
14. Limitation of liability
14.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, employment opportunity or data, arising out of or in connection with the use of the Platform.
14.2 Our aggregate liability to any User in respect of all claims arising in any twelve-month period shall not exceed the higher of (a) the total fees actually paid by that User to us in that period, or (b) the amount specified in our published liability schedule.
14.3 Clauses 14.1 and 14.2 do not apply to liability arising from our fraud, wilful misconduct, or gross negligence, or to any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Amara Education Private Limited, its directors, officers and employees against any claim, demand, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
16. Force majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disaster, epidemic, war, civil unrest, government action, strike, failure of telecommunications or power, or failure of a third-party service provider.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms. The revised version will be posted with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be notified to registered Users by email or in-app notice at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
18. Governing law and dispute resolution
18.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory law and clause 18.3, courts at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction.
18.2 Good-faith resolution. Before filing a non-urgent civil claim, a party should send a written notice describing the dispute and allow 30 days for good-faith resolution. This does not prevent urgent interim relief, a statutory complaint or a consumer remedy.
18.3 Mandatory rights preserved. Nothing restricts a consumer's right to approach a Consumer Commission with jurisdiction, a Data Principal's right to use the remedy available under applicable data-protection law, or any right that cannot lawfully be waived.
18.4 Users outside India. The Platform is operated from India. A user outside India is responsible for local eligibility and use requirements. If the GDPR, UK GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act or another foreign privacy or consumer law applies to a particular processing activity, the relevant mandatory rights and obligations prevail to that extent.
18.5 International transfers. Personal data may be processed in India and in countries where contracted service providers operate. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism or additional safeguard, we will use an approved mechanism before the transfer.
18A. General contractual terms
18A.1 Entire agreement. These Terms and the policies incorporated into them are the entire agreement concerning the Platform, except for a signed enterprise agreement or product-specific terms that expressly prevail.
18A.2 Severability. If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions continue.
18A.3 No waiver. A delay or failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.
18A.4 Assignment. A user may not assign an account or these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a merger, restructuring, sale of business or transfer to an affiliate.
18A.5 Language. The English version controls to the extent permitted by law.
18A.6 Electronic records. Users consent to receive agreements, notices, invoices and records electronically. Electronic acceptance and records have the effect permitted by applicable law.

- Teachers: Free during the introductory period. A nominal fee may be introduced later with notice.
- Schools and Vendors: Chargeable at prices published on the Platform.
- Seminars, workshops and training: Charged or not charged entirely at the discretion of Amara Education Private Limited. Where an event carries its own published terms, those terms prevail.

4. Subscription term and renewal
A subscription runs for the period stated at purchase. Where auto-renewal applies, it is disclosed before purchase and may be cancelled at any time before the renewal date. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not shorten or refund the period already paid for, except as provided in clause 5.
5. Cancellation and refunds
5.1 Every refund is subject to verification. Amara Education Private Limited will pay a refund only after satisfying itself of the genuineness of the request — covering the fact and amount of payment, the extent to which the paid service was accessed or used, whether the ground claimed is made out, and whether the request is consistent with the account's history.
5.2 Cooling-off. A first-time subscriber may cancel within 7 days of first payment and receive a full refund, provided the account has not made substantive use of the paid features.
5.3 Service failure. Where a paid feature is unavailable due to a fault on our side for a continuous period exceeding 72 hours, you may claim a pro-rata refund or an equivalent extension of the subscription, at your election.
5.4 Duplicate or excess payment. Refunded in full on verification.
5.5 Payment debited but service not activated. Refunded in full, or the service activated, at your election.
5.6 No refund is payable where:
- The subscription period has begun and clause 5.2 does not apply
- You used the service but did not achieve the outcome you hoped for (fee purchases access, not an outcome)
- You did not attend a paid seminar, workshop or training programme
- The account has been suspended or terminated for breach of the Terms
- The request is made after 30 days from the date of payment, except under clause 5.3
- The request is found on verification not to be genuine
5.7 How to request. Write to hello@xschools.in with the order reference and the ground relied on.
5.8 Refunds are made to the original payment method only. We do not refund to a different account, in cash, or to a third party.
5.9 Nothing in this Part limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Raise a dispute with us before initiating a chargeback. Where a chargeback is raised without first contacting us, we may suspend the account pending resolution.
